Topeka Pride Prom

Novice Sister FranKenSiren attended this event in the north Topeka arts district with fellow Sisters. The beauty of being outside of the bar scene is, all ages are welcome, allowing the Sisters to interact with the local youth, as well as their parents/guardians. The event was sponsored by Beacon Youth Group (Topeka, KS’s teen equality group), and all proceeds went toward the costs of Topeka Pride.

There was a wonderful turnout, including youth from Beacon, and outside youth who heard from their friends.
The Sisters were asked to help with door check, educate the youth in attendance, and take some pics with attendees.

A big thanks to Nicole Nesmith, the organizer of Beacon, for having us out and getting us involved. Let’s not forget Eugene Jones, who is on the board of Topeka pride.
