The first annual Outskrts Festival, as described by Outskrts, was a 1.5 day festival on the outskirts of Kansas City, centering around the LBTQ+ community. There was music, movies, vendors, speakers, food, and more.
Basically, this festival was created to celebrate people who feel they are on the outskirts of our community. The majority of the vendors and performers were either female presenting, people of color, or presented on the trans/non-binary spectrum. While it started off slow, it grew quickly. When the rain hit, the festival moved inside, without skipping a beat, and back out once the weather cleared. |
