Last year, Run816 won the award for the best cheering section of the KC Marathon. This year, they asked us to join them, AND WE HAD AN ABSOLUTE BLAST!!!
Some community members took photos of and with us, and even a few of the runners stopped to take selfies with us! There was more than one runner who was ecstatic and started screaming when they saw us! One almost tackled Novice Sister Versa Major to the ground! And a tradition that we’ve started is bringing some of Sister Burma’s cookware from her kitchen and using it as a noisemaker. Last year, we broke a wooden spoon across the pan. This year, we broke the bottom of the pot clean off from hitting it so hard! |
